Wanderlust - Original Art

Adventurous babies are prone to wanderlust. Gazing skyward while imagining all the wonders soon to be discovered. I remember those days when I was younger, and I work hard to instill this same wanderlust into my own children.

The idea of my own wanderlust represented by a lion cub because they are so flippin cute. But sadly, most young lions die before age 2 either from being killed by other lions or at the hands of humans. With overall populations down 43% in the past 21 years, these young ones need all the help we can give them to ensure a brighter future for their species.

This painting combines pumice gel, glass beads, fiber paste, burlap, and book pages. This painting was completed with Golden professional grade acrylic paint and finished with 4 coats of archival high-gloss varnish. It's on a wooden panel and will withstand the test of time.

The sale of this painting will support the African Parks Network. They are working to secure parks from the threat of poaching. Their work also combines habitat management, wildlife reintroduction and trans-locations, monitoring programs, as well as relevant research to inform conservation actions.
